You may have heard of Social Care or Social Services, but what do they do?

Social care is sometimes referred to as Social Services; these are the same.
Social care offers personal care, social support and protection to children and adults who may be at risk of harm or have disabilities.
Children’s social care aims to protect children and young people from possible harm or abuse, and also helps those with a disability.
Children’s Social care help to change lives and improve circumstances with the goal of allowing children to reach their full potential.
Children’s Social Care maybe involved with you or your family for a number of reasons, and they may be offering different services to support you. These services can be different between different local authorities and include:
Social workers work with children, families and adults to help them solve problems or crisis that they may be facing and help protect vulnerable people from abuse neglect or harm.
