A platform for domestic abuse survivor voices to be heard and to create change for future survivors.

Nottinghamshire Women’s Aid have been commissioned by Nottinghamshire County Council to develop a Co-Production service to give a platform for domestic abuse survivor voices to be heard and to create change for future survivors.
They are focusing on young people’s voice between August and October as this is so important for the community to understand.
Travel expenses are reimbursed and a £20 voucher given as a thank you for participation.
They are looking to work with 16-25 year olds, any sex/gender with a lived experience of domestic abuse who feel able/comfortable with exploring their experience/journey.
They will be carrying out this work through photography which will not explicitly ask about lived experiences. However, the photo work will allow survivors to explore their experiences using photography/a camera and allow them to show what they would like us to see/feel or represent something meaningful for them. The work will be entirely led by survivors with guidance and a brief will be given before the task begins to explain, guide and answer any questions.
There will be support throughout available and a debrief will be given at the end of the session. The photography may also be made available to the survivors individually afterwards, if there is interest.
This work is anonymous, confidential and is carried out by experienced sensitive professionals from Nottingham Trent University.
It will be in a group setting to facilitate as many survivors input as possible. However if this is something survivors are not comfortable with, they can discuss this on an individual basis.
They can also facilitate interviews if the photo work isn’t something that is of interest.
Survivors can withdraw at any point.
It will be a one-off opportunity scheduled around availability. However if they chose they can become part of the network.
