Exam Results…..How did you do?

We do understand that the past few weeks may have been quite stressful for a number of you with all the difficulties encountered with you receiving your exam results. But what happens now?

For many of you it will be the happy end to months of challenging work and a huge well done to you. But for some it won’t be so positive.

If you didn’t get the grades, you were predicted or wanted, there’s lots you can do.

It might look like everyone has done better than you, but there will be plenty of people who will be sitting quietly and thinking about their results. The best advice is to keep calm, if you feel disappointed, that’s a natural feeling and ok, you can sit with that feeling for a while, but do wrap it up, move on from it and forgive yourself.

Find someone to talk through your options with, it may be that you request a remark or a retake or maybe look at alternative courses. Your friends and family will want to know what results you have, be honest with them and upfront and if you are disappointed, impress them by telling them so and that your options have changed.

Move on – they’re just grades. In a few years’ time they’ll be long forgotten, take time now to relax and unwind from it all. We all need to remember that school is important, but not at the cost of your mental health.

Keep yourself around people that can allow you to relax but do ask for help if you need it. Everyone does need help from time to time.” https://youngminds.org.uk/ can offer you lots of help and advice or if you prefer to speak or text your local School Nurses, we are here to listen to you and support you.
