My Sexual Health – mid-Nottinghamshire

SEXions Team

SEXions is a confidential sexual health service for young people aged 13-19, and up to 24 for young people with disabilities.

Although based at The Hub (Level 5, Tower 3 in King’s Mill Hospital) and at Newark Hospital, SEXions works within the community to provide group sessions in educational settings, and offers community drop in centres that young people can access for:

  • chlamydia testing,
  • pregnancy testing,
  • advice & support, and
  • C-Card services.

SEXions operate a confidential text message service.

We also give one-to-one support and advice surrounding all aspects of sexual health including sexually transmitted infections, contraception, healthy relationships, online safety and access to other sexual health services.

Young People can refer themselves into the service, as can other organisations on behalf of the young person.

“Here to listen, not to tell”

My-Sexual-Health believes that all individuals, including young people, have the right to confidential sexual health advice and services.

In order to help you, we often require some personal and private information. My-Sexual-Health would like to reassure you that all discussions you have with a member of our team will be treated confidentially.

In extremely rare situations, My-Sexual-Health may be required to divulge your information to other agencies (eg your GP, social services, etc) should there be serious concerns about your health, safety or welfare, for example:

  • if you are under 18 and tell us about someone who has abused you sexually, physically or emotionally
  • if you are 12 or under and tell us that someone has had sex with you
  • if your life is at serious risk
  • if you tell us about someone under 18 who is being abused
  • if another person’s life is at risk

Whenever possible, we will inform you prior to doing this and give you all the support you need.
