Introduction to the school nurse service

What does the school nurse service offer?

The role of the school nurse is to help improve children and young people’s health and wellbeing. This is a free, confidential service and we have a dedicated team of qualified nurses and school nurse assistants who can provide a range of support both in school and in a community setting.

Some of the common things we help young people with are:

  • Emotional health
  • Mental health and wellbeing
  • Anxiety
  • Sexual health
  • Relationship advice
  • Drugs and alcohol
  • Healthy lifestyles.

The school nursing service is available to young people in Manchester, and can be accessed through school either by asking someone at school to make you you an appointment or attending one of our drop in clinics.
