Manchester Pride campaigns for the advancement of LGBTQ+ equality; celebrates LGBTQ+ life and creates opportunities that engage LGBTQ+ people so that they can thrive. As one of the leading LGBTQ+ charities in the UK, its work aims to challenge discrimination in relation to homophobia, biphobia and transphobia and through grant-giving, it supports, enriches and empowers LGBTQ+ community groups, events and causes in Greater Manchester.
In 2019, Youth Pride MCR was the first event especially curated for the younger members of the LGBTQ+ family. This unique event brought together creativity, fashion, music and more as we created a safe and nourishing space for young people aged 14+, who wanted to experience Pride in a way that was designed just for them. This special Youth Pride MCR parade entry took to the streets as part of the Manchester Pride Parade.
