After a year in which young people have missed out on so much and life as we know it went a bit topsy turvy, sport and physical activity are set to play an essential role in our recovery.
National School Sport Week is once again upon us with a focus on celebrating the return of youth sport and its power to bring people back together. Up and down the country a week of school sports days will be held with the community theme Together Again.
Schools, families and communities across the UK are encouraged to sign up for the week commencing the 19th June and anyone who does sign up will receive free resources from the Youth Sport Trust, including a guide to staging an inclusive sports day, top tips on engaging young people to join together and how to give a voice to young people when organising their sports day.
The Youth Sport Trust are a children’s charity who started the event back in 2008. Since then they have annually promoted and run the campaign and even in lockdown celebrated National School Sport Week at Home reaching more than 2 million people! Their aim is to empower young people to achieve their best and equip educators to change lives.
