ADHD Medication Shortage Information

ADHD medication

You might be taking medication to help you think and to do daily tasks.

What’s the problem?

There has been a problem getting enough of this medication into pharmacies. Your parent / carer might find it hard to get enough tablets.

Why is this happening?

More people need the medication, and the people that make them have changed.

How long will this problem last?

At least until January 2024.

What should I do?

  • Speak to your parent / carer and check how much medication you have left.
  • Your parent / carer will need to order your medication 2 weeks before they run out.
  • If you have problems getting the medication, your parent / carer can speak to other pharmacies in your area or contact Community Paediatrics booking team for an appointment.

The Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust have produced lots of information and advice about what parents/carers, young people and schools can do.
