Young people’s emotional health and wellbeing

Helping you enjoy good emotional health and wellbeing, and develop resilience is really important to your health and development.

Growing up is an exciting time for most young people and it is time when try new things, make news friends and have a little more freedom and responsibility. It can be a little worrying at time and it is common for young people to have worries from time to time. Some young people can feel quite anxious or they can feel quite sad, sometimes this stops them doing the things that they would like to do.

School nurses have additional training and experience so they can talk to young people at times when they might be struggling with their emotional health. We can offer advice and support. We run groups for young people to help them find ways to build their confidence and self esteem. We can arrange to come and see you in school or in a health centre or youth club, if you’d like to talk to someone about how you are feeling.

Or you can join one of groups. You will have chance to meet with other young people who are having similar experiences and challenges to your own. Talking about problems with others can really help you. You can learn new skills and ways to improve your own wellbeing and boost your resilience. You can find out more about our young people resilience group and book a place using the information on this flyer Teen FRIENDS for Life Flyer – BVC January 2019
