The School Nursing Service is available for young people across Bradford, regardless of whether you are in school or not. It is run by Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust (BDCFT). The team can offer advice and support all year round, so even in the school holidays.
The aim of the team is to help improve children and young people’s overall health and wellbeing. They can support with a number of health issues such as:
We can give advice over the telephone, video call, text message or someone can meet with you in school, at home or somewhere else suitable, across the city.

If you need urgent help, you should contact your doctor, visit a NHS walk-in centre or call NHS 111. If it is an emergency, dial 999 or visit A&E.
The team offer 1:1 appointments, drop-in sessions for pupils in secondary schools, deliver health promotion and education sessions. They run the Chat Health text messaging service and cover any calls and emails that may come into the team. They also offer growth and measurement screening in primary schools- you may remember having your height, weight and hearing checked when you were in primary school. You might also see some members of our team at coffee mornings or events in schools, such as careers fairs.
