Supporting young people as they move into adulthood is most effective when their voices shape the resources designed for them.

Supporting young people as they move into adulthood is most effective when their voices shape the resources designed for them.
That belief has sat at the heart of Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust’s Children and Young People’s Services Transition Offer and their recent collaboration with students from West Nottinghamshire College, who played a central role in co‑creating a new Transition to Adult Services leaflet.
Alex, a student from West Notts College, built on characters previously created for our animations to help shape the new leaflet. By involving students directly, the Trust ensured the resource reflects what young people genuinely find useful.
Alex’s creativity and insight helped move beyond assumptions and produce something eye‑catching, accessible and relevant. All resources developed with West Notts are designed to be inclusive and suitable for all young people, regardless of the service they use or the support they need.
The Transition to Adult Services leaflet, along with other resources, can be accessed on the Preparing for Adulthood website.
