How does vaping affect the environment?

Disposable vapes are made from materials, including plastic, copper, and lithium batteries. Millions of these disposable vapes are littered or thrown away every week. These materials can persist in the environment for a long time, contributing to pollution.

The design of disposable vapes makes them difficult and expensive to recycle because the battery cannot be easily separated from the plastic shell and other components. This leads to a significant amount of electronic waste. You can read more about battery safety here.

Extracting raw materials, such as lithium for batteries and various metals, manufacturing processes, and the global transportation of these products all have substantial effects on the environment. These activities can lead to increased carbon emissions, depletion of natural resources, and pollution in various locations.
