Staying safe online

Being online is a big part of life chatting, gaming, learning, or scrolling but just like the real world, it’s important to stay safe.

Tips for staying safe online

  • Protect your information
  • Don’t share your full name, address, school or location.
  • Use strong passwords with a mix of letters, numbers, and symbols and don’t share them with anyone.
  • Be careful who you talk to: Not everyone online is who they say they are. Block and report if something feels wrong.
  • Think before you post. Once it’s online, it’s hard to delete.
  • Watch for scams: Don’t click on dodgy links or offers.
  • Take breaks: Too much screen time can affect your mood and sleep.
