Webchat: Managing Stress Monday 3rd October 4.30-5pm

Stress is a reaction to being placed under too much pressure. Exam stress, emotional stress, worrying too much about something, struggling in school or college, facing big changes, problems at home….are some of the reasons why people feel stressed. Join us online for our webchat on Monday 3rd October to talk about ways you can manage stress. Talk to a school nurse to seek advice and support and chat to peers who can help.

* Trauma- i.e car accident/bereavement
* Exam stress
* Problems at home
* Peer pressure
* Friendship/relationship difficulties

It's good to share your thoughts with someone you trust - they may be able to support you.

These could include,

* School nurse via text or face to face contact
* Parent/carer
* Teacher/mentor
* family members i.e parents, Aunt, Uncle etc
* Friends

How to look after yourself when feeling stressed.

* Keeping active
* Look after your body
* Do regular exercise
* Eating a healthy balanced diet
* Drinking plenty of water
* Organise your time
* Make sure you have a fair balance between work and play
* Be kind to yourself, focus on your strengths
