Hi - This web chat is now open
Have you got any questions or thoughts about healthy eating do you find it easy/hard
Do you eat regular meals - what about breakfast - do you always have time for breakfast - have you any tips for breakfast on the go

Chat Health (Nurse - Moderator) / 13 Feb 16:36

Why do i need it - eating breakfast is important as it kicks starts your body by giving it the energy it needs to help you move and think

Chat Health (Nurse - Moderator) / 13 Feb 16:42

If you regularly skip breakfast you are more likely to snack on high fat/sugar foods later in the day
What foods are good for breakfast
low sugar wholegrain cereals like porridge or weetabix with semi skimmed milk - did you know that some cereals contain 33% sugar or more - look at your cereal bowl and image taking away a 1/3 of cereal away
wholegrain/wholemeal/brown toast with a low fat cream cheese
Scrambled egg on toast
Yoghurt and fruit

Chat Health (Nurse - Moderator) / 13 Feb 16:45

I can't eat breakfast when i first get up / i don't have time to eat breakfast -
Ideally you should have breakfast within 2 hours of getting up
You can always grab a piece of toast as you walk out the door or a piece of fruit

Chat Health (Nurse - Moderator) / 13 Feb 16:54

If i eat breakfast - i feel hungry by break
Your body is designed to work with a regular fuel intake -
hence breakfast, lunch & evening meal + 1-2 low fat/sugar snacks (fruit/veg/ low sugar/fat carbohydrate) per day
Evidence has shown that people who regularly eat breakfast and have regular meals are more likely to be a health weight
