Hi This chat will be starting at 4.30pm, we will be discussing sharing pictures and videos on line.

Chat Health (Nurse - Moderator) / 7 Mar 16:33

Hi everyone welcome to the chat this afternoon, the chat has now started. Has anyone got any good ideas about how to stay safe when sharing photos and videos on line?

StaringDinosaur / 7 Mar 16:37

I was told that snapchat deletes photos, so is safe to use

StaringDinosaur / 7 Mar 16:38

I put photos on my facebook but only my friends can see my facebook.

Chat Health (Nurse - Moderator) / 7 Mar 16:42

Snap chat, people can screen shot the photo you send but it does notify you if they do this. You need to be careful when sending any photo as they can share this photo once it is screen shotted

Facebook, only if you have put your settings on friends only, as much as you can secure things people may still be able to access your Facebook. Always think before you post, always ask yourself who you would want to see this picture e.g mum, dad teachers, future employers

How to stay safe when posting pictures and videos- protect your identity don't choose a profile picture that can easily identify you; think before you post, once a photo is uploaded it is no longer private, it can be copied or shared for everyone to see

Chat Health (Nurse - Moderator) / 7 Mar 16:56

If you are worried about pictures or videos that are being shared always talk to somebody that can help you, this can be your parents, teacher, school nurse or anyone you trust. Child line has useful information
