It is illegal to be in possession or be dealing in drugs

SportyMonkey Chat Health (Nurse - Moderator) / 7 Dec 16:35

What do you mean by drugs??

YawningHorse / 7 Dec 16:36

Yeh course it's illegal - what happens if your found with drugs

Chat Health (Nurse - Moderator) / 7 Dec 16:36

Peer pressure

Remember it is illegal to drink alcohol under the age of 18. You should not feel pressured by others to drink alcohol and it is okay to say no.

Chat Health (Nurse - Moderator) / 7 Dec 16:37

What do yoou mean by drugs?

BlueOwl / 7 Dec 16:41

you say drugs but ive heard of legal highs? are they drugs? and if there legal doesn't that mean they can be taken?

SportyMonkey / 7 Dec 16:43

What would happen if someone is found with drugs? I know some friends of mine use drugs.. I don't really know much about it

Chat Health (Nurse - Moderator) / 7 Dec 16:46

Legal Highs
Legal highs are substances that have a similar effect to illegal drugs. This does not mean they are safe to use as some contain ingredients that are illegal.
Legal highs can cause serious health risks as they contain drugs never used/tested before on humans

Chat Health (Nurse - Moderator) / 7 Dec 16:50

Being found with drugs on you is an offense and you can be arrested by the police. If anyone is concerned about friends then I suggest you talk to a trusted adult about this

BlueOwl / 7 Dec 16:51

oh ok! is it illegal for anyone to drink in public? like down a park? i've had alcohol tipped away before by police but if i was 17/18 would this be allowed?

Chat Health (Nurse - Moderator) / 7 Dec 16:52

Any drugs/alcohol/legal highs can reduce your inhibitions, so you do things you wouldn't normally do.

Chat Health (Nurse - Moderator) / 7 Dec 16:56

Drinking in public

The police have the power to stop a person and confiscate alcohol in a public place if they think/suspect the person to be under the age of 18. Those under the age of 18 who persistently drink or possess alcohol in public places may be prosecuted

BlueOwl / 7 Dec 16:57

Oh i see! but you said about drinking with an audlt is allowed? does this rule apply then in public or?

Only people over the age of 18 can drink in public places. Except in areas of towns were, designated place orders are in place. This gives the police officers special powers to order a person to stop drinking alcohol in public
